(exhibition of models / prototypes + 15 min presentation)
Professional designers and design students are invited to present during the conference their own design of a food product or a product for food.
Designers should submit a 500 words abstract describing their product and the relevance to the Food Design discipline, along with images of the product itself (not more than three images in jpeg, 72 dpi) by 31 October 2011 (postponed to January 31, 2012).
Selected projects will be exhibited on a dedicated area for all the duration of the Conference. Projects should consist of a built form at any scale (prototype or model), and an accompanying narrative explaining how the project addresses the conference topic. Designers will be notified of the display area upon notification of acceptance. Designers are responsible for the creation and transportation of models or prototypes which should be displayed in the designated area by 9am on Day 1. Designers are also responsible for the collection of models or prototypes by 6pm on Day 2.
Designers will also have a 15 min presentation where to describe their project to the audience and discuss it through questions and answers.
Submissions:
• Click on the link below for submissions through the conference system. Submissions of abstracts end on 31 October 2011 (postponed to January 31, 2012).
• Abstracts must not exceed 500 words in length.
• Authors should attach one picture of the prototype/model in Jpeg or pdf.
• Author details should not be included in the abstract, but entered separately into the online submission system.
• Authors will receive notifaction of acceptance of abstracts by 1 December 2011.
Upon acceptance of abstract designers are encouraged (but not required) to submit a short paper (2000-3000 words maximum). We encourage the submission of multi-media papers. Please send papers and relevant files (jpeg, mp3, mp4, wmv) to fzampollo@fooddesign2012.com
Only after registration your presentation will be confirmed.
All submissions will be reviewed by the conference committee.
